April Giveaway Prize

April Blog Giveaway Pendant

I said after last month's collaboration with M.E. that I would be going solo with this month's giveaway, but that isn't true. The pendant I am giving away this month is a collaboration between my mother and me! My mother is a fabulously talented women. One of her many talents is for painting. She prefers landscapes, but I asked her to paint this gorgeous rose for me, which I converted to a digital file and transfered to polymer clay to create this pendant. I love it so much, I created pendants using the image for my Mother, my sister, my sister-in-law, and my niece, too. And you could have the very first one I made! It could be an early Mother's Day present for yourself or someone you love.

April Blog Giveaway Pendant

All you have to do is leave a comment on this post between March 21 and March 28, 2011. Next Monday, March 29, I'll draw a name from the list of commenters and publish it here. Lynda, that pendant is gorgeous. Your mother is quite an artist, lucky girl.

Every time I see a red rose it reminds me of my grandmother. She loved red roses and I would bring her one long stem red rose every week. We lived together for 25 years and I still miss her.
She drank beer till she was 99 and quite smoking when she was 97.

Another beautiful pendant, Lynda! We now know where your talent comes from. :)

I love the back story. My mom dabbled in painting and other crafts and loved all kinds of art. She passed away almost 16 years now. It would be extra special to own this, a true ''Mother's'' Day Diva Designs pendant.

Lynda, both you and your mother are very talented. My mother is no longer with me, but we both had rose gardens (not easy here in the Sandhills of NC). Would love to have this pendant, it is so beautiful.

Lynda, what a gorgeous rose pendant! You and your mother have such amazing, talented spirits! :) Please pass on my compliments to your mother!

My mother loved yellow roses. After she passed in October, 2009, Dad gave all of us yellow rose bushes the following Spring to plant in her memory. I had a few blooms last Summer and am looking forward to more this year. I love all colors of roses, though I am partial to yellow -- I even carried them when I got married 36 years ago! My daughter carried the most beautiful shade of lavender roses when she got married in 2003. All of us (Mom, my sister, my daughter, my niece, & I) have carried our wedding flowers attached to a small, white Bible given to my mom for her wedding. Such a beautiful tradition!

Well, I've chatted long enough!

Hugs,

You have a very talented Mother, as they say....Like Mother, Like Daughter! The two of you have made a gorgeous piece of art!
If I was lucky enough to win this beautiful pendant, I would give it to my daughter. She has had a very tough four years. First came her diagnosis of epilepsy then, because of her seizures, she was involved in a car accident on her bicycle which left her with a mild brain injury. Since then, she has lost two babies, one because of Downs Syndrome and one through miscarriage. She is a much stronger person than I could ever be and I have learned a lot from her.

Lynda this is such a beautiful pendant. How lovely that you and your mon share a talent that links the generations. In my family we have a peony that has been in my family for over 140 years. This eye of the plant was brought to America by my great Grandmother. She passed it on to her children. My grandmother gave pieces of this plant to Mom and Dad sold the family house it was winter. My Uncle gave me a piece of The Peony and I have grown it in my garden. Always taking it with me. I have now given part of it to my daughters and back again to Mom and it still thrives! My Uncle who gave me several eyes of The Peony made a request of me. Dawn, I would like to plant a piece of The Peony on my grave one day. I know I can depend on you to do this for me. I will honor his request as it is the last thing I will be able to do for him. And I request my daughters pass on the family peony to their children. This is our family tradition. I would love to make something very special with is pendant to pass on one day like our peony.
