My poor hands are screaming for one, and it just may have to be my next polymer related purchase, too.

I'm so happy to hear the post inspired you!Diva Designs Jewelryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03584450394780468279noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-640390957361939993.post-88157111266958990532012-04-01T03:58:37.125-04:002012-04-01T03:58:37.125-04:00I think you're right, keep it simple - but I h...I think you're right, keep it simple - but I had to tell you that I was inspired by your posting and experimentation and got the cernit out and my blown hens eggs from last year(!) and decided to make some kaleidoscope canes in the style of another clay guru Carol Simmons and spent all last week covering them. Today is my birthday and what has my lovely husband given me - a motor for my pasta machine - oh joy!Polyanyanoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-640390957361939993.post-811270990218753192012-03-28T08:09:03.336-04:002012-03-28T08:09:03.336-04:00A slump is horrible, and the longer it goes on, th...A slump is horrible, and the longer it goes on, the more helpless you feel. This past slump (should we call it the Great Slump of 2011? LOL) was the longest I've ever been in; and I think I would probably still be in it if I hadn't gone back to the basics and revisited some of the simpler polymer techniques, skinner blends, marbling, etc. It really helped to start over again and look at even the simple things with a new eye and attitude. :)Diva Designs Jewelryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03584450394780468279noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-640390957361939993.post-83697899257894289242012-03-24T13:25:30.363-04:002012-03-24T13:25:30.363-04:00Thank you for this Lynda, it reminds me that I bou...Thank you for this Lynda, it reminds me that I bought Cernit for the sole purpose of experimentation a while back - still in the wrapper! My slump continues! Ashamed to say I haven't even tried the faux bone tut I bought from you. BUT I'm starting to feel excited at the prospect of your marbling tut - think that could get my creative juices flowing again. No pressure though! :))Polyanyanoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-640390957361939993.post-5733295874082779092012-03-10T10:49:22.877-05:002012-03-10T10:49:22.877-05:00JuLee, the red didn't surprise me, actually. ...JuLee, the red didn't surprise me, actually. My Premo red faux jade recipes took a LONG time to perfect because the colors you think will work in the blends don't. I have a lot of dull, flat, brown beads in the butt uglies jar.

The blue did surprise me, though. I didn't think either the Ranger or the Pinata would hold, but they did.Diva Designs Jewelryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03584450394780468279noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-640390957361939993.post-58893407322507148452012-03-10T05:46:47.801-05:002012-03-10T05:46:47.801-05:00Our guild tried Pardo at Clay Camp a few years ago...Our guild tried Pardo at Clay Camp a few years ago and were all disappointed with it. However, we did not try the transluscent or any color mixing. May have to revisit that after seeing the pieces you worked up.
In your trials, the blue's changed but they remained blue. I am really surprized at the Watermelon. It looks like a completely different color.JuLeehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14135986376938076760noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-640390957361939993.post-45126973923192514242012-03-07T15:28:56.868-05:002012-03-07T15:28:56.868-05:00Thank you, Suzanne. I think a weekly play date sounds like a great idea. I hope you do this often! It's great that you got your mojo back. Mine has been gone for a long time for some reason. The translucent is worth it though...so clear (not turning yellowish), and no plaquing!! Although I don't use it often, when I do I always heat it up with a hairdryer...and that helps!Moobie Gracehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13396403664904405544noreply@blogger.com
